Work Location: The position will initially be based at the Chelmsford, MA facility and will transition to Andover, MA once the laboratory is relocated toward the end of the year.
Position Overview
- We are seeking an Engineering Aide to provide hands-on technical support to RF and microwave design engineers and development teams.
- The ideal candidate will have experience as an RF Technician, Electronics Technician, or similar technical professional and be comfortable working in an engineering laboratory environment.
- This role will support RF and digital circuit troubleshooting, test setup, data collection, engineering documentation, and electronic assembly activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to RF engineers, microwave design engineers, and other engineering professionals on a variety of technical tasks.
- Troubleshoot RF and digital electronic circuits and systems.
- Set up and operate laboratory test equipment and test benches to support engineering evaluation and development.
- Perform engineering testing and collect, record, and analyze test data.
- Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data, including laboratory test results and engineering design changes.
- Collect RF measurement data including: Power, S-Parameters, Harmonics, Phase Noise, Noise Figure
- Produce engineering documentation, technical reports, flowcharts, block diagrams, and schematics.
- Perform calculations and preliminary analysis of technical data using established formulas and procedures.
- Use Microsoft Office applications to prepare reports, documentation, and engineering data.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, block diagrams, and engineering drawings.
- Perform assembly to engineering drawings and specifications with minimal supervision.
- Build wire harnesses according to drawing specifications when required.
- Support electronic and microelectronics assembly activities.
- Safely handle ESD-sensitive devices and components.
- Use a microscope for inspection and assembly activities.
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience troubleshooting RF and digital circuits.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with laboratory test equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, power supplies, and signal generators.
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- 3+ years of experience working with electrical component parameters and packaging.
- Candidates should have hands-on experience with laboratory test equipment such as: PNA / Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Signal Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies and Other RF and electronic measurement equipment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of safe handling and protection of ESD-sensitive devices.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and block diagrams.
- General knowledge of RF systems and electronic circuits.
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Electronics or a closely related technical field.
- Experience with microelectronics assembly techniques.
- Soldering and electronic assembly experience.
- Experience working with electronic modules such as: Amplifiers, Mixers, Switches, Frequency generation circuits, Frequency conversion circuits
- Experience using a microscope for electronic inspection or assembly.
- Experience setting up RF test stands or laboratory test benches.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
