Position Summary
The Cashier / Sales Floor Attendant is responsible for providing outstanding customer service while maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment. This position is much more than operating a cash register—you will assist customers, maintain sales floor presentation, keep fitting rooms organized, and help ensure every customer enjoys their visit.
Essential Responsibilities
- Welcome every customer with a friendly and positive attitude.
- Accurately operate the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Process cash, credit card, and other payment transactions.
- Assist customers with questions and direct them throughout the store.
- Bag purchases efficiently and thank customers for shopping with us.
- Keep the checkout area clean, stocked, and organized.
- Recover merchandise throughout the sales floor.
- Return unwanted merchandise to the appropriate departments.
- Monitor and maintain fitting rooms.
- Perform routine cleaning duties, including restrooms, break room, sales floor, counters, and common areas.
- Assist with maintaining attractive displays.
- Help maintain a safe shopping environment by keeping aisles clear and reporting hazards.
- Work collaboratively with managers and team members to accomplish daily goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous cashier or retail experience is preferred but not required.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled (must be available to work on Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday+ another day during the week)
- Basic computer and cash handling skills.
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently bend, reach, lift, and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Push shopping carts and merchandise racks when needed.
- Perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.
