Behavior Technicians work under the direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)® to teach meaningful, lasting skills to children and teenagers with a variety of needs.

Responsibilities

Provide behavior-analytic services in a home-based setting

Establish rapport quickly with clients and their families
-
Teach functional skills such as problem-solving and self-calming strategies
-
Use preventative strategies to reduce likelihood of challenging behavior
-
Respond to challenging behavior as indicated on a behavior plan
-
Record data related to skill acquisition and behavior reduction
-
Communicate barriers, progress, and suggestions to designated BCBA®
-
Incorporate feedback and training during sessions
-
Write a brief summary of each shift worked
Minimum Requirements
-
High school diploma or equivalent
-
Reliable attendance
-
Ability to respond to challenging behavior, including aggression, after training
-
Ability to pass a background check
-
Reliable transportation
Preferred Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree related to human services (completed or in progress)
-
Interest in a career in human services
-
Experience providing Naturalistic/Incidental Teaching
-
Familiarity with behavior-analytic principles
Training
-
New hires will receive extensive training prior to working with clients
-
Training will begin as soon as possible
-
Ongoing training will be provided during sessions for a minimum of two hours per week
Wage: $18-$22/hour (depending on experience)
