Job Title: Dining Server
Location: Hotel Yellowstone at Jackson Hole, Wyoming
Job Summary: As an elevated dining server, you are responsible for providing guests with an exceptional dining experience by offering personalized service, anticipating needs, and maintaining a thorough knowledge of the menu offerings. Your role involves ensuring that guests have a memorable and enjoyable meal while adhering to the restaurant’s standards of quality and excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Guest Service:
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and escort them to their tables.
- Present menus and inform guests about daily specials and menu changes.
- Provide recommendations on food and beverage selections based on guest preferences and dietary restrictions.
- Take accurate orders and relay them to the kitchen and bar staff promptly.
- Tableside Service:
- Serve food and beverages according to established dining etiquette and presentation standards.
- Monitor and anticipate guests’ needs throughout the dining experience.
- Offer refills and ensure glasses are topped off.
- Clear tables and reset them promptly for the next course or guest.
- Menu Knowledge:
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens.
- Answer guest questions regarding menu items and make knowledgeable suggestions.
- Ensure accuracy when entering orders into the POS system.
- Team Collaboration:
- Coordinate effectively with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and accurate service.
- Communicate special requests or dietary needs to the kitchen.
- Assist other team members during peak times or as needed.
- Upselling and Revenue Generation:
- Promote additional menu items, beverages, or desserts to enhance the guest experience.
- Suggest wine pairings or recommend premium selections to increase sales.
- Quality Assurance:
- Monitor food quality and presentation before serving it to guests.
- Address any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.
- Guest Relations:
- Build rapport with guests and create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Handle guest inquiries and complaints courteously and efficiently.
- Resolve issues promptly and escalate concerns to management when necessary.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a server in a fine dining or upscale restaurant setting.
- Excellent knowledge of fine dining etiquette and service standards.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with guests and colleagues.
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
- Flexibility to work morning, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Reliable form of transportation.
Education and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in hospitality is a plus.
- Certification in food handling and safety is advantageous.
