A rapidly growing utility-scale Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) EPC is seeking a Process Improvement / Quality Engineer to support continuous improvement and quality initiatives across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Project Management, Commissioning, Service, and Warranty teams.

Compensation: $50–$65/hour
Location & Travel
- Fully remote during the contract assignment.
- Approximately 30% travel, including occasional travel to customer, supplier, or project sites.
Position Summary
The Process Improvement / Quality Engineer supports organizational learning and continuous improvement by coordinating Lessons Learned, corrective actions, quality initiatives, and process improvement activities across the organization.
This individual will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Project Management, Quality, Commissioning, Service, and Warranty teams to ensure operational knowledge is captured, communicated, and incorporated into company processes, training, and future projects.
The role also supports Root Cause Analysis (RCA), CAPA, NCR management, quality reporting, training, and cross-functional improvement initiatives that drive operational excellence and long-term organizational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lessons Learned & Knowledge Management
- Review Lessons Learned submissions for completeness and accuracy.
- Document, categorize, and maintain Lessons Learned databases and knowledge repositories.
- Coordinate Lessons Learned workshops by preparing materials, documenting outcomes, tracking action items, and distributing reports.
- Follow up with action owners to ensure timely completion.
- Communicate approved Lessons Learned across the organization.
- Support periodic reviews to verify implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions.
Continuous Improvement & Quality
- Support initiatives that improve quality, efficiency, and operational performance.
- Collect and analyze quality metrics, recurring issues, and corrective action data.
- Identify trends and assist with continuous improvement projects.
- Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 5 Why, Fishbone, 8D, NCR, and CAPA investigations.
- Gather investigation data and monitor corrective actions through closure.
- Verify documentation and effectiveness of implemented solutions.
Training & Process Support
- Maintain training materials related to Lessons Learned, CAPA, NCR, problem-solving methodologies, and quality processes.
- Coordinate training sessions, onboarding support, attendance records, and quality awareness initiatives.
- Assist with audits, assessments, document reviews, and quality system documentation.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, presentations, and management updates.
- Support implementation of process improvements across multiple business functions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in one or more of the following:
- Quality Engineering
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Process Improvement
- Continuous Improvement
- Operations Engineering
- Experience supporting quality systems, corrective actions, or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
- Excellent follow-up and project coordination abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel approximately 30%, including occasional travel to customer, supplier, or project sites.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with:
- Lessons Learned programs
- CAPA
- NCR
- Quality Management Systems
Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis methodologies including:
Additional preferred qualifications:
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar Quality Management Systems.
- Experience coordinating training programs or continuous improvement workshops.
- Experience with:
- Power BI
- SharePoint
- Salesforce
- Jira
- Similar reporting or workflow management tools
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification preferred.
- Experience supporting utility-scale solar, BESS, manufacturing, industrial, EPC, or renewable energy organizations is highly desirable.

- Do you have at least two years of experience as a Quality Engineer, Process Improvement Engineer, or Continuous Improvement Engineer?
- This requires some travel, including occasional travel to various sites.
