Service Writer is responsible for providing support to the Service Manager, Service Team, and Customers.
*Communicate with customers professionally and with courtesy.
*Work with clients to provide appointments, Keep customers up to date on status of repairs.
*Inspect every boat and motor when boat is dropped off for maintenance/service (with the customer when possible) and note repair order accurately.
*Complete repair / maintenance work order with customer at drop off accurately at all times and with needed pick up dates and any special notations from customer
*Refer to service records and recommend additional necessary service and maintenance as suggested by manufacturer and company procedure.
*Secure customer approval prior to starting work to include cost estimate, delivery time, warranty work, and estimated completion date.
*File all warranty claims in accordance with the manufacturer guidelines.
*Upon notification that additional work may be needed, contact customers immediately to inform and gain understanding and approval of the additional work needed or recommended.
*Follow-up with each customer 48 hours after they pick up their boat from service to check on customer satisfaction.
*Follow Complaint Handling Procedure to support upset customers. Reach resolution when possible that is satisfactory to the customer while protecting the company’s interests with management approval.
*Refer potential sales leads to the Sales Department for customer support.
*Maintain department records accurately and in proper order per established guidelines and procedure.
