Work Location & Schedule

Hours: 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM
Compensation

Hourly Rate: $14–$15 per hour, dependent on experience

Approximately 30–35 hours per week expected
Position Summary
Play Academy is seeking energetic, responsible, and enthusiastic Camp Counselors to join our team. This role works directly with campers to facilitate activities, ensure safety, and create a fun, supportive environment that encourages learning, creativity, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise and actively engage with campers during daily activities, games, and crafts

Lead and support both structured and unstructured activities in alignment with Play Academy programming

Ensure the safety, well-being, and positive experience of all campers at all times

Assist with set-up and clean-up of activity spaces, materials, and equipment

Monitor camper behavior and provide guidance to promote positive interactions and inclusion

Support attendance tracking, parent communication, and documentation as needed

Report any incidents, concerns, or feedback promptly to the Camp Director or Assistant Camp Director

Represent Play Academy professionally and positively in all interactions
Independent Contractor Status (1099)

This position is classified as a 1099 Independent Contractor

Responsible for taxes, insurance, and compliance as applicable

Flexible schedule required during camp hours

Experience working with children in a camp, school, or recreational setting preferred

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Energetic, reliable, and positive attitude

Ability to follow directions and take initiative when needed

CPR/AED Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)

Lifeguard Certification preferred
Physical Requirements

Ability to lead and participate in physical activities, including running, lifting, and engaging with children

Ability to remain active throughout the camp day

Ability to respond quickly in emergency or high-activity situations
