Job Overview:
Seeking an experienced tanker Trailer Mechanic to join our team.
Essential Job Duties:
- Responsible for the diagnostics, inspection and repairs of equipment as assigned which includes welding, fabrication, electrical, and brake systems
- Ensure timely and accurate updates to repair orders for labor hours, parts, or otherwise in the computer maintenance management system
- Accurately completes all forms, checklists and other documentation as needed by company or regulatory policies and properly store or distribute them
- Ensures parts pulled from inventory are assigned to repair orders to ensure accuracy and proper billing. Submits parts requests for purchase orders as minimum quantity levels are reached or not available in stock
- Maintain an organized and safe workshop before, during and after repairs
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Minimum education/experience required:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must pass pre-employment screenings
- Basic knowledge of how hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical systems function
- Ability to work extended and/or irregular hours including weekends and holidays as needed
- Personally owned hand tools
Preferred education/experience:
- Advanced knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations
- FMCSA Annual Inspections experience
- Brakes knowledge (RSS, ABS, pneumatics) experience or certification
- Forklift experience
- Basic computer skills
