Massachusetts 7D School Transportation Driver – Part-Time

ARTS Transportation Services, Inc. is seeking dependable, safe, patient, and professional drivers to transport students to and from school.
We are especially interested in experienced Massachusetts 7D drivers, including drivers who have experience transporting students with autism and other special needs.
Don’t currently have your Massachusetts 7D? Qualified candidates are still encouraged to apply. FREE 7D training is available through ARTS for qualified candidates for contracted service work.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THE SCHEDULE BEFORE APPLYING
This is a PART-TIME SPLIT-SHIFT position.
Morning: Approximately 6:00 AM – 9:00 AM
Afternoon: Approximately 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM
Exact hours will vary depending on the assigned route.
Drivers must be available for their assigned morning AND afternoon routes.
Drivers must also be available for scheduled early-release school days, which may occur every other week.

Applicants who live near our service areas are strongly preferred to help maintain efficient route assignments and reduce unnecessary travel.
Responsibilities
● Safely transport students to and from school and other authorized locations
● Arrive on time for all assigned pickups, drop-offs, and routes
● Follow assigned routes and transportation schedules
● Maintain a safe, calm, and professional environment inside the vehicle
● Provide patient, respectful, and compassionate transportation for students, including students with special needs
● Work cooperatively with an assigned transportation monitor when applicable
● Conduct required vehicle safety checks
● Follow applicable Massachusetts 7D school pupil transportation requirements and ARTS safety procedures
● Communicate professionally with ARTS staff, families, and appropriate school personnel
● Promptly report delays, safety concerns, incidents, vehicle concerns, or route issues
● Protect student privacy and confidential information
Qualifications & Requirements
Candidates must:
● Be 21 years of age or older
● Have a valid Massachusetts driver’s license
● Have at least 3 years of driving history
● Have a clean/satisfactory driving record
● Be punctual, dependable, flexible, patient, and professional
● Be comfortable working around children and students with special needs
● Be able to meet all applicable Massachusetts 7D eligibility and certification requirements before driving an assigned 7D route
● Be able to successfully complete required safety and background screenings, including CORI, SORI, background screening, and fingerprinting
A current Massachusetts 7D certificate and previous 7D driving experience are preferred but not required for qualified candidates willing and eligible to complete training.
FREE 7D TRAINING AVAILABLE
If you do not currently have your Massachusetts 7D certification, ARTS will provide FREE 7D training for qualified candidates for contracted service work.
Candidates must successfully meet applicable Massachusetts requirements before being assigned to operate a 7D vehicle.

Compensation
Starting at $20.00 per hour.
Starting compensation may vary based on 7D driving experience, qualifications, assigned route, and responsibilities.
