Inpatient Psychiatrist provides comprehensive psychiatric care for adult and geriatric inpatients in a hospital-based setting. Responsibilities include evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients on Adult Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry units, managing psychiatric emergencies, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing medication management. The psychiatrist collaborates with an interdisciplinary team, including nursing, social work, therapy, and case management, to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. Additional responsibilities include providing psychiatric consultation services for patients admitted to medical and surgical floors, documenting care in the electronic medical record, participating in discharge planning, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards. This position follows a 7-on/7-off schedule, providing continuity of inpatient and consultation services during scheduled work weeks.
