As a vital member of our field service crew, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of power distribution networks while adhering to rigorous safety procedures. Your expertise in electrical diagnostics, rigging, and construction site experience will drive success on every project.
Duties
- Perform high-voltage electrical wiring, relay testing, and troubleshooting on utility electrical systems and transformers to maintain optimal performance.
- Conduct electrical field testing, blueprint reading, and electrical diagnostics to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Operate bucket trucks and climbing equipment safely to access overhead line systems and perform routine inspections or repairs.
- Execute power line construction projects, including cabling, tree trimming near utility lines, and installing or maintaining overhead line systems.
- Follow strict safety procedures for high-voltage work, including PPE use, electrical safety protocols, and adherence to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Engage in utility locating, electrical blueprint interpretation, and high-voltage wiring projects with precision.
- Perform outdoor work in various weather conditions while maintaining a focus on safety procedures for high-voltage work and electrical safety standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in industrial electrician work or commercial electrician roles with a focus on high-voltage electrical wiring and systems.
- Strong background in rigging, welding, electrical diagnostics, and troubleshooting electrical transformers.
- Knowledge of high-voltage electrical systems, relay testing, overhead line systems, and power distribution systems.
- Experience working in the energy & utilities sector with outdoor work experience in construction site environments.
- Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics accurately; familiarity with electrical blueprint reading is essential.
- Skilled in the use of tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing; experience with electrical field testing is preferred.
- Capable of operating bucket trucks or bucket operation equipment safely; climbing skills are required for overhead line work.
- Knowledge of NEC standards, utility locating techniques, cable installation, high-voltage wiring practices, and outdoor safety procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team on power line construction projects while prioritizing safety at all times.
- Valid certifications related to electrical safety procedures for high-voltage work; PPE use training is mandatory.
