American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Florence, AL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and proficiency in fetal monitoring on a night shift schedule.

Labor and Delivery unit in a hospital setting, located on the 3rd floor
-
9-bed unit serving an adult patient population
-
1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
-
Common diagnoses and cases include normal spontaneous labor, preterm labor, gestational hypertension, preeclampsia, placenta previa, placental abruption, fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, and postpartum hemorrhage

Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:15 AM (18:45–07:15)

Every other weekend required

Float requirement to postpartum unit

EHR systems: Centricity and Meditech
-
15-week contract
-
Active AL RN license or compact RN license currently in hand

Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS or ALS-OB (AHA), NRP, and EFM — all AHA certifications required

Minimum of 2 years of L&D RN experience

Proficiency in fetal monitoring and assessment, emergency response, postpartum care, and time management

SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Responsibilities include fetal monitoring and assessment, managing obstetric emergencies, and providing postpartum care

Key personality traits sought include adaptability, attention to detail, stamina, strong communication skills, and empathy

New hire orientation is held weekly on Mondays

Scrub color: ceil blue; scrubs with slogans, graphics, or offensive content are not permitted, and appropriate footwear is required

Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate

Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible

Candidates who are employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
