Ashland Baking Company has been creating breads, pastries, desserts, sandwiches, and coffee in the Chequamegon Bay region since 2001. Since then, the bakery has grown to not only serve our community with delicious baked goods, but also to deliver and ship to various restaurants, food cooperatives, and grocery stores as far away as Grand Marais. We are a busy hometown bakery with a large product line, that specializing in artisan products. Ashland Baking Company is a LGBTQ friendly work environment.
Job Summary
This position is a production job, which includes making artisan bread for wholesale and retail customers. Candidates must be able to work with a high degree of skill and with consistency. Days and weekend shifts starting at 3 am are required, some holidays required. Ideal candidates must be team-oriented, respectful, and organized. Kitchen/baking experience is preferred but not necessary. Responsibilities
- Working with our bread manager and bread team
- Weighing and measuring baking ingredients.
- Mixing, shaping, and baking breads.
- Knowledge of ingredients and basic conversions.
- Organizing and cleaning the kitchen, walk-in, freezer, and bakery as need
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age, team oriented, dependable, and an early riser
- Must be able to reliably multitask in a fast paced environment
- Must be able to communicate with coworkers in a professional manner and work as a team.
- Must be able to stand and maneuver around a kitchen efficiently. Required to lift and carry up to 50lbs; climbing; reaching; pushing/pulling.
- Must be able to arrive to work reliably by 3am.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
