Teacher Responsibilities:
- Assist the Lead Pre-K Teacher in implementing Georgia Pre-K curriculum and daily classroom activities.
- Support children's learning through small group work, whole group instruction, and individualized attention.
- Promote positive interactions and social-emotional development.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom that meets Bright from the Start licensing and Pre-K program standards.
- Participate in professional development, planning sessions, and parent engagement opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with fellow staff, administration, and families to support student success.
Per Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) Pre-K Program Standards, Assistant Teachers must meet one of the following:
- Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- OR
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential
- OR
- Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC) in Early Childhood Education
- OR
- Current enrollment in an approved credential or degree program with progress toward completion
Satisfactory Background Check
Must be at least 18 years of age
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a Georgia Pre-K program
- CPR/First Aid certified
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A nurturing, positive attitude and commitment to developmentally appropriate practices
