What We're Looking For:
- 5-8+ years of accounting experience
- Construction industry experience preferred
- Experience with payroll processing and payroll tax filings
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
- Proficiency with Sage50 accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Notary certification or willingness to obtain certification
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivable activities including, but not limited to:
- processing customer payments, preparing bank deposits, reconciling portal payments, following up on payment discrepancies, and collections.
- Accounts Payable activities including, but not limited to:
- processing vendor invoicing and payments, manage company credit card accounts & reconciliations, file & pay sales & use taxes, and coordinate payment of real estate and personal property taxes.
- Payroll & Tax Compliance activities:
- submitting payroll tax payments & filings, preparing quarterly & annual payroll reports, assisting with W-2 & 1099 preparation, and supporting year-end tax preparation activities.
- Banking & Financial Reporting:
- reconciling multiple bank and general ledger accounts, preparing financial reports, and assisting with banking administration & Positive Pay processes.
- Insurance, Licensing & Compliance:
- coordinating employee health insurance administration, support worker’s compensation & general liability insurance programs, preparing & filing business licenses & contractor licensing requirements, and maintaining subcontractor insurance & licensing records.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- assisting with real estate loan & closing documentation, coordinating wire transfers as needed, maintaining notary certification or willingness to obtain certification , and special project and administrative initiatives as assigned.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive compensation based on experience: Range $80,000 - $90,000
