Title: Communications Director
Type: Non-Exempt; salaried
Category: Non-Ministerial Staff
Hours: Part time (32 hours); Sunday through Thursday
Supervisor: Church Administrator, Minister of Music and Worship Arts
Overview of Position:
Ensure technical support for all regular worship services, special SMBC events, and rental events.
Support all ministers as applicable to the job. Expand external and enhance internal communications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervises and coordinates Tech Team Volunteers
- a. Recruit Team Members, create a diverse team, have several members for each position, creating depth
- b. Team training
- c. Schedule for worship and special events
- d. Coordinates tech support for all rental events
2. Regular Ongoing Communications
- a. Social Media
- b. Website
- c. Newsletter
- d. Weekly worship aids, including handouts
- e. Additional communication as needed
3. Worship Preparation
- a. Build Media Shout Presentation
- i. Slide import
- ii. Music Lyrics
- iii. Other media
- iv. Baptism videos
- b. Setup sanctuary tech
- i. Audio
- ii. Stream
- iii. Lighting
- iv. Special Décor/Props
- c. Continue to build out Worship Archive on Teams
4. Monitoring and maintaining equipment
- a. Budgeting for updates
- b. Disposal of removed equipment
5. Other duties as assigned.
After initial training and onboarding, additional responsibilities to be added incrementally, including
6. Prepare visuals for Worship
- a. Power Point Slide Creation/Design
- b. Pastor’s slide creation
- c. Produce Countdown Video
- d. Baptismal videos
7. Announcements
- a. Prepare slides
- b. Prepare Calendar right slab
- c. Add/Delete from rotation
Qualifications:
1. Completion of Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university
2. Demonstrated skills in Canva or similar software, Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, Media Shout or similar software
Pay: $25,000.00 - $30,000.00 per year
