Position Summary
Komar Industries is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC mills and/or lathes to produce precision parts in support of production operations. The ideal candidate will have strong CNC programming experience, excellent blueprint reading skills, and hands-on machining knowledge in a job shop or tool room environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes to perform progressive machining operations involving close tolerances and complex requirements.
- Program CNC machines using Siemens and FANUC controls with G-code and M-code.
- Use Mastercam programming to support the manufacturing of precision parts.
- Perform complex machining and fitting of various parts, tools, and machines.
- Fit and assemble equipment as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, and written specifications.
- Use machinist hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and inspection equipment.
- Work with various machined materials and understand their working properties.
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts safely.
- Support production operations by troubleshooting machining or programming issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Work overtime as needed.
- Use and maintain personal tools required for the role.
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience operating CNC machines required.
- CNC programming experience with Siemens and FANUC controls required.
- Mastercam programming experience required.
- Experience in a job shop or tool room environment required.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals.
- Strong mathematical, mechanical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrated competency using computers and CNC programming software.
- Experience using machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
- Must have own tools.
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
