Position Overview:
To ensure daily transportation needs run safely, efficiently, and on time. Maintains automated scheduling system. Inputs data and communicates with clients regarding transportation needs. Under direction, schedules, coordinates, and monitors transportation as needed for Human Service Agency clients, the general public, and the disabled community.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Schedules and coordinates transportation routes to ensure safety and efficiency.
2. Maintains computerized automated scheduling software “Ecolane” and inputting data into system.
3. Communicates with individuals regarding transportation needs.
4. Serves as a department resource regarding transportation services, responds to inquiries, and provides accurate information.
5. Utilizes two-way radio to communicate instructions to drivers for routine and emergency problems.
6. Types letters, reports, memos, and other documents with the department staff.
7. Sorts, copies, and/or files correspondence and documents with the department, including outside and interoffice mail.
8. Answers telephone and takes messages or transfers calls to proper individuals.
9. Greets and assists general public by taking or providing information, receiving payments, or directing them to proper locations.
10. Processes required department documents, forms, and reports as required.
11. Updates information to the computer database.
Other Duties:
1. Operates computer, typewriter, adding machine, copier, and other office equipment as needed.
2. Maintains department files in an up-to-date manneras required.
3. Transports ambulatory and non-ambulatory passengers in County vehicles in a safe, reliable, and timely manner in an emergency situation.
4. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements to Perform the Work:
Education/Training Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Work Experience:
Experience with Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel preferred. Prior experience with scheduling preferred.
