Job Summary
1st Step Behavioral Health is a Joint Commission accredited drug and alcohol treatment center located in South Florida. We are dedicated to helping people on an individual basis discover for themselves the steps they will need to take to achieve a lasting change in their recovery.
A behavioral health technician (BHT) is expected to record and report client behavior, and provide a safe, supportive environment for clients. Behavioral health technicians observe clients, listen to their concerns, record their observations and report to the behavioral health professionals about any unusual behavior. They assist in the delivery of behavioral healthcare, including direct supervision of clients as part of the therapeutic behavioral team.

Thursday to Monday 3:30p-12a
Tuesday to Saturday 3:30p-12a
Per Diem Status
Med Pickups 4pm hours vary (Monday-Friday)
Med Pickups 1pm hours vary (Saturday-Sunday)
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsibilities of the Behavioral Health Technician/Chemical Dependency Technician:
- Document "Clients" physical location every 15min,30min,1hr.
- Builds positive relationships with staff and clients;
- Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility to changes in the work environment;
- Follows Infection Control Guidelines at all times;
- Provides a safe, therapeutic environment for clients;
- Provides daily reports to management;
- Facilitates client’s rules and responsibilities;
- Reports noncompliance to management;
- Collects urine samples from clients;
- Performs searches;
- Transports clients as necessary using the company vehicle.
