Kansas City Orthopaedic Institute is a single specialty orthopedic hospital. We are physician owned, with 17 IPU beds and eight state-of-the-art surgical suites. We have been serving the Kansas City area for 25 years.
We're seeking a part-time Interventional Pain Procedure RN to provide optimal care to patients prior to, during and after a scheduled pain procedure. Our Interventional Pain Procedure RN is the liaison between the patient and the physician and helps to navigate from pre-operative assessment through the procedure to post-operative recovery.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Patient Care: assessment, evaluation, lab work, assisting with procedure, education, electronic documentation
- Preparing, stocking, cleaning and closing unit
- Crosstrain to pre-assessment to assist with pre-op calls
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to project a professional, pleasant image while interacting with a variety of personalities and cultures.
- Must demonstrate tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions.
- Teamwork is essential and staff must be flexible and adapt to department needs.
- Should have strong communication and customer service skills and respect for confidentiality.
- Must have the ability to plan, prioritize and complete tasks under stress with frequent interruptions.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
- 1-5 years of relevant experience and/or training.
- Registered Nurse in the state of Kansas required.
- BLS and ACLS preferred or obtained within the first three months of hire.
