Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center team as a Pre-Operative/PACU Nurse. This position provides nursing care to patients before and after surgical procedures, with a strong focus on patient safety, comfort, education, and efficient patient flow.
The ideal candidate enjoys working in a team-oriented environment and is comfortable caring for patients throughout the perioperative experience. ASC, Day Surgery, or PACU experience is preferred, but experienced nurses from acute care, emergency, or critical care settings are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Perform pre-operative assessments and prepare patients for surgery.
- Start IVs and administer medications and fluids as ordered.
- Receive patients from the operating room and provide post-anesthesia care.
- Monitor airway, respiratory status, vital signs, level of consciousness, pain, nausea, and overall recovery.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized patient-care environment.
- Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, surgical technologists, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Assist with patient flow and other nursing duties as needed to support efficient ASC operations.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Current RN license in Idaho.
- Current BLS certification.
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
Preferred:
- Previous PACU, perioperative, ASC, emergency department, or critical care experience.
- ACLS certification.
- PALS certification.
- Experience caring for patients receiving general anesthesia, MAC, sedation, or regional anesthesia.
