The Bilingual Counselor Advocate provides individual and group counseling, advocacy, case management, referrals, and court accompaniment, as needed, to victim-survivors of domestic violence and sexual violence and their family members. Services are provided to all clients. The role also supports community education and outreach as needed.
Principal Responsibilities:
Provides individual and group counseling to victim survivors of DV/SV and their families in Spanish and English.
Maintain a case load of 25-27 clients.
Provides advocacy for clients at court, welfare and with other community agencies.
Provides systems advocacy to identify community-based support for victim/survivors and their families.
Provides education, information, referral and education to clients, other professionals and to the general public.
Completes and maintains agency forms and documentation.
Performs other duties as necessary.
Required Education & Experience:
Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field, or Bachelor’s with 4 years of related experience.
Knowledge of community resources including the legal system in Mercer County.
Public speaking.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Must be fluent in Spanish.
Exceptional communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in high-stress environments and manage complex cases with attention to detail and timelines.
Proficient computer and data analysis skills with the ability to learn new software.
Completion of 60 hour domestic violence and sexual violence training or certification of completion from another agency.
Valid driver’s license.ate service delivery.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
