Upper School (Middle Grades) English Faculty - Long-Term Sub 2026-2027
THE POSITION
The Country School is seeking an experienced teacher to teach English, with experience integrating writing with literature, utilizing book groups and genre studies, and a demonstrated commitment to working with middle school students. A long-term sub is responsible for all aspects of the teaching role, including lesson planning, grading, and parent communication.
The Country School is located in Easton, MD, and serves students in grades PreK through 8th grade with a total enrollment of approximately 325 students. The Upper School serves approximately 145 students in grades 5-8. In addition to teaching, the faculty member will be a full participant in the life of the Upper School, including serving as an advisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- College degree (B.A./B.S. minimum; M.A. preferred)
- Teaching experience at the middle school level (5+ years preferred)
- Knowledge of language arts pedagogy, curriculum, and teaching methods
- Commitment to working with adolescents and to teaching in the middle school
- Interest in curriculum development, assessment, and differentiated instruction
- Computer literacy and experience in integrating technology
- Personal skills needed to work collaboratively within the team of Upper School faculty.

Salary
The Country School’s daily pay range for this role is $250-280/Day. If selected for the role, your rate will be determined by your experience and qualifications.
