Overview
Cider Press Woodworks is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will specialize in custom millwork and custom furniture, providing accurate and timely cost estimates to support our sales and production teams.
Key Responsibilities

Project Assessment

Review architectural drawings, specifications, and client requirements for custom millwork and furniture projects.

Conduct site visits as needed to gather project details and measurements.

Estimating & Cost Analysis

Prepare detailed estimates including materials, labor, hardware, and subcontractor costs.

Analyze project plans to identify risks, challenges, and value engineering opportunities.

Develop and maintain unit cost databases for materials and labor.

Proposal Development

Collaborate with the sales team to prepare and present formal proposals and bid packages.

Respond to RFQs and RFPs, ensuring all client requirements are addressed.

Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination

Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.

Maintain relationships with key vendors to ensure competitive pricing and reliable sourcing.

Project Handover

Provide thorough project handoff documentation to project managers and production teams.

Participate in project kick-off meetings to clarify scope and expectations.
Qualifications
-
Proven experience as an estimator in custom millwork, cabinetry, or custom furniture manufacturing.

Strong understanding of woodworking materials, fabrication processes, and joinery techniques.

Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings.

Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.

Strong communication skills for client and team interaction.

High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred

Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Wood Technology, or a related field.

Familiarity with CAD software and project management tools.
