Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Assistant Manager to join our team and drive excellence in retail operations. Duties
- Assist in overseeing daily store operations, including sales, inventory management, and customer service initiatives
- Support recruitment efforts by participating in interviewing and onboarding new employees
- Provide employee orientation, training, and development to ensure team members are knowledgeable and motivated
- Manage scheduling, shift assignments, and payroll processing to maintain optimal staffing levels
- Supervise team members’ performance, conduct evaluations, and promote a positive work environment
- Oversee merchandising, pricing strategies, stock replenishment, and inventory control to maximize sales potential
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure exceptional service standards are met
- Conduct cash handling procedures, cashiering duties, and POS (Point of Sale) transactions accurately
- Assist with marketing initiatives and promotional activities to boost store visibility and sales growth
Skills
- Strong leadership with proven assistant manager or supervisory experience in retail settings
- Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are highly valued
- Proficiency in negotiation, purchasing, and inventory management techniques
- Skilled in retail math including pricing strategies, sales analysis, and budgeting
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math concepts
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
- Experience in employee orientation, training & development programs, and team management
- Knowledge of retail sales techniques including merchandising, stocking, and marketing strategies
- Ability to manage time efficiently while overseeing store operations during shifts
- Strong interpersonal skills with phone etiquette expertise and customer service focus
- Demonstrated ability to supervise staff in a grocery or general retail environment is preferred
