TRAJECTORY
We are seeking a Licensed Massage Therapist to provide professional, restorative, and customized massage services that support the overall guest experience, service quality, retention, and brand standard of Verbena Holistic Center.
This role is designed for a skilled service provider who understands that exceptional bodywork is only one part of the client experience. Presence, communication, cleanliness, professionalism, and consistency are equally important.

WHO YOU REPORT TO
Spa Manager / Operations Manager / Ownership or the individual designated by management.
ROLE STRUCTURE NOTE
This is a licensed service provider position focused on client care, treatment quality, room readiness, cleanliness, service flow, and guest experience.
This role is not a management, ownership, or independent decision-making position unless otherwise confirmed in writing by ownership or management.
STRATEGIC WORK
- Deliver high-quality massage therapy services aligned with Verbena standards, service menu, and guest experience goals
- Support guest retention through consistent care, thoughtful communication, service customization, and appropriate recommendations
- Protect the quiet, restorative, and premium environment of the spa at all times
- Contribute to a strong team culture through reliability, respect, professionalism, and solution-oriented communication
- Support business growth by understanding memberships, add-ons, holistic service pairings, and future care opportunities when appropriate
- Uphold all licensing, safety, sanitation, privacy, and professional boundary standards connected to massage therapy and guest care
TACTICAL WORK
- Review client intake forms, service history, preferences, concerns, contraindications, and goals before each appointment.
- Provide massage therapy within Connecticut law, professional training, and Verbena protocols.
- Customize sessions to guest needs while maintaining boundaries, draping, and consent.
- Communicate with guests regarding pressure, comfort, focus areas, expectations, and service modifications.
- Start and end services on time, ensuring a high-quality, unrushed guest experience.
- Maintain accurate, detailed client notes, service updates, and follow-up records.
- Recommend appropriate services, add-ons, wellness pairings, and future care based on guest needs.
- Follow all protocols for room setup, sanitation, laundry, product use, supply, and service timing.
- Keep all treatment rooms, shared spaces, laundry, back-of-house, and guest areas clean and organized.
- Immediately report guest concerns, incidents, inappropriate behavior, contraindications, injuries, or operational/maintenance issues to management.
- Attend all required trainings, meetings, check-ins, and protocol updates.
- Represent Verbena with warmth, discretion, professionalism, and integrity in all interactions.
REQUIREMENTS
- Active Connecticut massage therapy license in good standing
- Professional training and hands-on experience in massage therapy, bodywork, client care, safety, draping, consent, and sanitation
- Strong understanding of anatomy, contraindications, client comfort, professional boundaries, and scope of practice
- Ability to customize services based on guest goals, comfort level, physical needs, and treatment preferences
- Strong communication, punctuality, cleanliness, organization, and follow-through
- Ability to work calmly and professionally in a guest-facing wellness environment
- Willingness to follow Verbena protocols, service standards, booking policies, operational systems, and management direction
COMPANY STANDARDS
- All massage therapy services must remain within license, training, legal scope, and Verbena-approved service protocols
- Guest safety, comfort, privacy, consent, and professional boundaries must be protected at all times
- All treatment rooms must be fully cleaned, reset, stocked, and guest-ready before each appointment

- Client experience is the highest priority at all times
- All services, recommendations, products, tools, and guest-facing decisions must align with Verbena standards and management direction

- Treatment notes, service documentation, and guest preferences must be maintained according to company protocols

COMPENSATION STRUCTURE
- Compensation, schedule, employee classification, commission, gratuities, bonuses, or other pay details will be confirmed separately in an offer letter, employment agreement, payroll document, or written communication approved by ownership.
