Position Title: Accompanist
Organization: Santa Rosa Children’s Choral Academy (SRCCA)

Position Summary
The Accompanist supports the musical development and performance success of the SRCCA by providing high-quality piano accompaniment during rehearsals, concerts, auditions, and special events. The ideal candidate is a skilled pianist who enjoys working with children, collaborates well with directors and staff, and contributes positively to a supportive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide piano accompaniment for weekly choir rehearsals and performances.
· Assist singers with learning vocal parts, entrances, rhythms, and diction.
· Accompany auditions, dress rehearsals, festivals, tours, and special performances as needed.
· Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and preparedness for all rehearsals and events.
Qualifications
· Strong piano performance and sight-reading skills.
· Experience accompanying choirs, vocal ensembles, or children’s music programs preferred.
· Ability to work collaboratively with children, directors, and parents.
· Familiarity with a variety of musical styles and choral repertoire.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills.
· Degree or coursework in music preferred, but equivalent experience considered.
Preferred Attributes
· Patience, flexibility, and enthusiasm for music education.
· Experience working with elementary or middle school-aged children.
· Ability to transpose, improvise, or simplify accompaniments when needed.
Schedule
· Weekly rehearsals: Mondays from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.
· Performances and special events throughout the season/year
· Additional rehearsals as scheduled before concerts
Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
