Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) Package Air Conditioning Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing VRF package air conditioning systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency. Copper Brazing is a must. Your expertise will help deliver comfortable indoor environments across a variety of commercial and residential properties. Duties
- Install, service, and repair VRF package air conditioning units, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and control system issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters
- Copper brazing is a must
- Perform routine maintenance including filter replacements, refrigerant charging, system cleaning, and component inspections to maximize system longevity and efficiency
- Troubleshoot complex HVAC/R systems involving electrical diagnostics, plumbing connections, building automation systems (BAS), and refrigeration components like ammonia refrigeration units
- Read and interpret HVAC design plans, schematics, and technical manuals to accurately execute installation and repair tasks
- Conduct system testing to verify proper operation after repairs or upgrades, adjusting controls as necessary for optimal performance
- Maintain detailed service records, reports, and logs of all work performed for accountability and future reference
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction or HVAC service technician roles with a focus on VRF or similar HVAC systems
- Copper brazing
- Strong mechanical knowledge including mechanical systems repair, boiler operation, welding skills, and property maintenance experience
- Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical diagnostics, plumbing systems, refrigeration cycles (including ammonia refrigeration), and building automation systems
- Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications such as HVAC/R licenses are preferred
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively; experience with equipment repair and appliance troubleshooting is advantageous
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in field service environments
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating <PERSON> drivers or similar vehicles preferred
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting heavy equipment, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces

Pay: $31.00 - $41.00 per hour
