Overview
We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented join our Accounting Team. As the Billing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial side of our Medicaid services. You will also assist the department in key areas such as accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Medicaid Services: Responsible for Medicaid duties as assigned. Duties may include verifying eligibility, processing claims, submitting billing, completing reconciliations, and working rejections/ denied claims. Work with Program staff and IT to complete reporting needs as necessary/required. Work with the Quality department, Agency Administration, and Program Management regarding Medicaid changes and compliance.
- Accounts Payable: Manage accounts payable duties for programs as assigned. Duties may include collecting and verifying payment authorization forms, entering payables into the accounting system and coding to general ledger accounts, preparing accounts payable checks, maintaining W9 files on all vendors according to current IRS regulations, filing check requests, and maintaining ACH files.
- Accounts Receivable: Manage accounts receivable duties as assigned. Duties may include maintaining billing tasks, tracking billing tasks, and ensuring accuracy.
- Community Relations: Assist in representing the agency and providing information on services provided. Duties include establishing relationships with funding sources and provider representatives.
- Other: Provide backup for other accounting specialists during absences as needed, assist with audit preparation, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and previous accounting and/or behavioral health Medicaid experience . Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field and previous experience in an office environment, accounting, and working with Managed Care Organizations/Medicaid preferred.
Skills: Must be organized, able to multi-task, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, intermediate computer skills, and detail oriented.
Miscellaneous: Must pass all pre-employment drug screens and background clearances. Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
*Exact pay commensurate with education and experience.
