Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in various care settings, including home, assisted living, and long-term care facilities. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for residents through personalized care, attentive observation, and compassionate support. This role involves working closely with individuals with diverse needs, including seniors, those with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer's, and other health conditions. The caregiver will play a vital role in ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity for those under their care.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and document patient observations, vital signs, and overall health status
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA guidelines
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
- Support residents with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts; heavy lifting may be required
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation practices
- Follow individualized care plans to meet each resident’s unique needs
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being
- Assist with specialized care such as dementia or Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, or working with individuals with autism or disabilities
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety protocols including CPR and First Aid certification when applicable
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to deliver comprehensive care
Requirements
- Prior experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care settings preferred
- Knowledge of patient monitoring, medication administration, vital signs measurement, and HIPAA regulations
- Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are highly desirable
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or dementia is a plus
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while maintaining independence in caregiving tasks
- Strong communication skills to interact empathetically with residents and their families
- Physical ability to perform tasks involving heavy lifting and assisting with mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts
- Compassionate attitude focused on providing respectful and dignified care
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; some positions may require working evenings or weekends depending on the facility’s schedule
