Food & Produce Procurement Specialist Job Description:
PrideStaff is currently working with multiple well known companies who are seeking a Food and Produce Procurement Specialist to join their team. The Food and Produce Procurement Specialist who will manage purchasing, inventory replenishment, forecasting, and supplier and vendor relationships. The Food and Produce Procurement Specialist will analyze market data and trends, work with sales, operations, accounting, logistics, and other related departments to successfully accomplish daily and future business goals. The ideal Food and Produce Procurement Specialist has multiple years of hands-on experience in procurement, buying, marketing, sales, or similar related position, is bilingual in English and Spanish, has ERP and SAP experience as well as the ability to clearly communicate and develop vendor and customer relationships. The Food and Produce Procurement Specialist is a full time, direct hire position in Doral, FL.
Food & Produce Procurement Specialist Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor Inventory Levels Daily & Update Purchasing Parameters to Meet Ongoing Replenishment Needs
- Create & Manage Detailed Purchase Orders With Accurate Costs, Quantities, Specifications, & Delivery Dates
- Secure Supplier Confirmations & Actively Review or Expedite Open & Late Purchase Orders
- Optimize Stock Levels to Successfully Minimize Shortages, Excess Inventory, Spoilage, & Material Shrinkage
- Manage Operational Product Changes, Including New Additions, Discontinued Items, Substitutions, & Modified Packaging
- Collaborate Across Internal Departments to Sync Production Volumes, Logistics Schedules, & Product Specifications
- Reconcile Supplier Invoices & Provide Documentation to Support Internal Audits & Regulatory Compliance
- Source Alternative Products or Vendors to Proactively Resolve Shortages, Improve Quality, or Reduce Costs
- Build Strong Vendor Relationships While Regularly Reviewing Formal Supplier Contracts & Purchasing Agreements
- Negotiate Optimal Pricing, Payment Terms, & Delivery Schedules Through Comprehensive Market Intelligence
- Audit Vendor Compliance, Product Quality Standards, Capacity Constraints, & On-Time Shipment Metrics
- Process Supplier Returns, Inventory Allowances, Credits, Claims, & Chargebacks For Subpar Merchandise
- Forecast Product Demands Accurately Using Historical Data, Market Trends, Seasonality, & Sales Team Inputs
- Track Key Performance Metrics & Analyze Data Trends to Minimize Overall Procurement Spending
- Identify Ongoing Forecasting Errors to Effectively Implement Strategic Improvements For Future Ordering
- Monitor Competitor Pricing, Evolving Market Conditions, Supplier Capacity, & Supply-Chain Risks
Food & Produce Procurement Specialist Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply-Chain Management, Business Administration, or a Related Field Preferred But Not Required
- 2+ Years of Purchasing, Procurement, Inventory, or Supply-Chain Experience Required; With Produce & Dairy Highly Preferred
- Bilingual in English & Spanish Highly Desired
- Demonstrates Excellent Knowledge of Purchasing, Inventory Replacement, Demand Forecasting, & Materials-Management Principles Required
- Familiar With Supply Chain Logistics, Transportation, & Warehouse Procedures With Excel, Outlook, Inventory-Management Systems, ERP & SAP Systems
- Demonstrates Strong Analytical Skills With The Ability to Evaluate Costs, Market Trends, Inventory Levels, & Supplier Performance
- Proven Ability to Negotiate, Solve Problems, & Build Strong Vendor Relationships
- Excellent Communication & Organizational Skills With The Ability to Manage Multiple Priorities
- Superb Attention to Detail & Commitment to Accuracy, Quality, & Customer Service
- Must Have The Ability to Work Independently & Collaboratively Across Multiple Departments
- Flexibility to Work Weekends or Holidays Occasionally When Required For Loading, Inspections, or Quality Control
- Must be Able to Commute to Multiple Businesses Within a Reasonable Commute Distance
