Nichols Concert Hall (part of the Music Institute of Chicago) is a historic and beautiful 550-seat concert venue situated in downtown Evanston, Illinois. Our Production Manager plays an important role in preparing our space for concerts by assisting with audio/visual operations in Nichols Concert Hall, and by setting up and operating equipment for livestream events and concerts. During live performances, they ensure the proper setup of all instruments, amplifiers, speakers, microphones, and mixing boards, including running cables for power and sound transmission.

Position Overview
Lead technical production and event operations for Nichols Concert Hall, ensuring seamless execution of performances, rentals, and institutional events.
Key Responsibilities
· Advance technical riders and production needs.
· Manage lighting, sound, stage operations, and equipment.
· Hire and supervise production staff and contractors.
· Coordinate event logistics and client walkthroughs.
· Maintain inventories, maintenance schedules, payroll, and production timelines.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree preferred.
· Two or more years of production or theater/event operations experience.
· Knowledge of lighting, sound, and live event production.

Physical Demands
- Able to frequently move audio/visual equipment, depending on needs of specific events
- Able to move large equipment and instruments (between 20-50 pounds) such as speakers, amplifiers, grand pianos, etc.
