Position Summary
The Financial Counselor will guide patients through insurance coverage, billing procedures, and available financial assistance options. You will act as a key liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to ensure transparency and resolution in all financial matters related to fertility care.
Key Responsibilities

Educate patients on insurance benefits, limitations, and expected out-of-pocket expenses

Interpret and review medical bills, insurance claims, and financial documents for accuracy

Coordinate with providers and insurers to resolve payment issues and disputes

Assess eligibility for financial assistance and assist with applications

Explain billing codes, insurance terminology, and payment obligations to patients

Maintain comprehensive and accurate financial records for each patient

Stay current with changes in healthcare insurance policies and billing procedures
Must-Have Qualifications

Prior healthcare experience (clinic, hospital, or medical office)

General knowledge of insurance plans and terminology

Insurance claims and billing experience

Strong customer service skills – both written and verbal

Analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
Nice to Have

Experience at a fertility or IVF clinic

Bilingual (Spanish preferred)

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Finance, Business, or equivalent experience
