Position Summary
The Chef works with the Director of Dining Expereince for planning, preparing, and overseeing the daily meal service for our Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care residents. This leadership position ensures exceptional food quality, maintains food safety standards, manages kitchen staff, and creates an enjoyable dining experience that exceeds resident expectations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare fresh, high-quality meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events.
- Plan seasonal menus that are nutritious, flavorful, and meet residents' dietary needs.
- Accommodate physician-ordered therapeutic diets and food allergies.
- Supervise, train, and schedule dietary staff.
- Maintain exceptional standards for food presentation, taste, and consistency.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Monitor food inventory, ordering, receiving, and cost control.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen.
- Collaborate with leadership to provide memorable holiday meals, themed dinners, and resident special events.
- Promote outstanding customer service while interacting with residents, families, and staff.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Chef, Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager.
- Experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, hotels, country clubs, or restaurants preferred.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets and nutrition is preferred.
- Current ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification (or ability to obtain).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Passion for serving seniors with dignity, compassion, and respect.
