Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and attentive Food Runner to join our dynamic restaurant team! In this vital role, you will serve as the essential link between the kitchen and our guests, ensuring that food is delivered promptly, accurately, and with a friendly smile. Your enthusiasm and efficiency will help create a memorable dining experience for every guest. Responsibilities
- Deliver prepared food and beverages from the kitchen to guests’ tables swiftly and accurately, maintaining presentation standards.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as plating or garnishing dishes when needed to support kitchen operations.
- Clear tables efficiently by bussing dishes, utensils, and glassware, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for new guests.
- Support the host/hostess team by managing guest flow, seating arrangements, and providing excellent in-person customer service.
- Maintain cleanliness of service stations, dining areas, and kitchen spaces by performing regular cleaning and sanitation duties.
- Handle basic math for order accuracy, process transactions using POS (Point of Sale) systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS when required.
- Follow food safety protocols diligently, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures to ensure guest safety.
Skills
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with guests and team members.
- Knowledge of food preparation, serving techniques, and beverage preparation is a plus.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for order taking and cash handling.
- Experience with dishwashing, bussing, or catering enhances your ability to support various restaurant operations.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous.
- Demonstrated hospitality skills including guest relations, phone etiquette, and open table management are valued.
