Overview
We are seeking an energetic and passionate part-time Child Care Enrichment Specialist to join our team! In this vital role, you will design and implement engaging activities that promote childhood development, foster creativity, and support positive behavior. You will work closely with children to ensure their safety, growth, and happiness while encouraging their social and emotional skills through dynamic youth programs. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in children’s lives while gaining valuable experience in early childhood education and youth development.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience working with children in childcare, camps, schools, or arts programs preferred
- Background in art, music, theater, dance, or creative education is a plus
- Ability to work under the supervision of a staff person in charge of the group of children.
- Basic computer skills including use of Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Successfully complete a pre-employment background check
- Must complete approved Basic Health and Safety training within 90-days of employment
- CPR and First Aid: Required upon hire
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to be warm, friendly, and sensitive to the needs of children
- Patient, dependable, and enthusiastic personality
- Must be able to handle physical tasks like standing for long periods, setting up activities and cleaning
Essential Responsibilities
- Plan and lead age-appropriate creative arts activities for children in consultation with and under the direction of the Child Care Teacher.
- Supervise children to ensure their safety.
- Actively engages with children in a variety of activities, such as crafts, games, and outdoor play, which help children learn and explore their interests.
- Encourage creativity, teamwork, and positive social interaction.
- Communicate with parents about the child's day and maintain confidentiality.
- Share in the common responsibilities of the unit.
- Maintain an environment in a clean, neat, safe, and attractive condition.
- Prepare and organize art supplies and classroom materials.
- Participate in parent programs, meetings, and conferences as needed.
- Attend approved workshops, training sessions and conferences as directed to complete continued training required by the state each year.
- Follow all childcare center policies, safety procedures, and licensing regulations.
- May participate in Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) and agency Case Record Reviews as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Position involves bending, lifting, carrying, and getting on the floor to interact with the children and being able to move freely to ensure safety of all the children.
- Moving classroom equipment and furnishings
- Cleaning and care of work area and unit
- Maintaining an environment free of hazards
- Perform any housekeeping task needed for the overall good order and functioning of the unit.
- With the nature of our work, there are no light duty assignments available for childcare employees.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
