Position Summary:
The Grant Coordinator is responsible for identifying, researching, writing, submitting, and managing grant proposals to secure funding that supports HEAR Wisconsin’s mission. This position works collaboratively with leadership and staff to develop compelling proposals, maintain relationships with funders, and ensure timely reporting on awarded grants.
HEAR Wisconsin is a well-established nonprofit with a strong history of grant success and established relationships with many local and regional foundations. The Grant Coordinator will build upon an existing portfolio of funders and proven grant processes while also identifying and cultivating new funding opportunities to expand philanthropic support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Grant Research & Development:
· Research and identify private, local, and corporate foundations as well as state and federal funding opportunities.
· Develop and maintain a grant opportunity calendar with application deadlines and reporting requirements.
· Evaluate funding opportunities for alignment with organizational priorities.
· Build and maintain relationships with grant-making organizations and funding partners.
Grant Writing:
· Write clear, persuasive, and accurate grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documentation.
· Coordinate with leadership and program staff to gather program information, budgets, outcomes, and supporting data.
· Tailor proposals to meet each funder's priorities and application requirements.
· Ensure all submissions are complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
Grant Management:
· Track submitted, pending, and awarded grants.
· Monitor grant compliance requirements and reporting deadlines.
· Prepare interim and final grant reports.
· Maintain organized electronic grant files and documentation.
Collaboration:
· Work closely with department leaders to understand program funding needs.
· Collaborate with leadership on grant budgets and financial reporting.
· Assist leadership in developing long-term funding strategies.
Data & Reporting:
· Maintain CRM and grant databases and funding records.
· Track grant revenue, success rates, and funding trends.
· Prepare regular reports for leadership regarding grant activity and outcomes.
Other Duties:
· Assist with donor communications as needed.
· Support fundraising initiatives and special projects.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Business, or a related field.
· Four or more years of grant writing or related fundraising experience.
· Demonstrated success securing grant funding.
· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
· Strong research and analytical abilities.
· Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience working in a nonprofit organization.
· Knowledge of healthcare, education, disability services, or human services funding.
· Experience with grant management software or donor databases.
· Familiarity with budgeting and financial reporting for grants.

This is a full-time exempt position and reports to the Director of Fund Development.
