Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Structural Steel Estimator to join our dynamic construction team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with structural steel components for commercial construction projects.
Duties
- Review and interpret complex construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications related to structural steel components
- Accurately estimate material requirements, labor costs, equipment needs, and subcontractor bids based on blueprint reading and project scope
- Manage project bids by analyzing and implementing effective control strategies throughout the estimation process
- Prepare comprehensive bid packages using Bluebeam, spreadsheets, and other estimating software platforms
- Conduct site visits when necessary to gather on-the-ground insights that influence accurate costing and scheduling
Requirements
- Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within structural steel scope and architectural drawings.
- Expertise in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and estimating material requirements from blueprints
- Excellent skills in pricing strategies to optimize project bids
- Familiarity with construction drawing review, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), and Bluebeam software
- Knowledge of construction site operations specifically for steel fabrication and erection of steel.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams
- Construction industry experience with a focus on structural steel is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of material cost estimating, cost control techniques, and managing project budgets from inception to completion is a must.

Pay: $62,702.36 - $75,512.52 per year
