We are seeking a professional CDL-A driver for intermodal container freight out of the Port of Charleston, SC. This is a W-2 position with transparent pay, clear expectations, and performance-based upside.
Pay
- 30% of gross
- Percentage is calculated before fuel
- Paid weekly
- Quarterly incentives/bonuses for availability, professionalism, and consistency
Pay Example (for illustration only):
- $4,500 weekly gross = $1,350 driver pay (30%)
- Driver responsible for their weekly deductions

Work Details (IMPORTANT)
- Intermodal container runs (long-haul & regional)
- Minimum 3 runs/loads per week
- 2–3 long-haul runs per week are mandatory
- Pick up containers from the Charleston port, deliver to destination, return containers, and dispatch next load
- Drivers must be willing to stay out to complete long-haul runs
- Direct communication with owner and dispatch
- Automatic, newer-model truck
Driver Expectations
- Safe, compliant driving at all times
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- On-time pickups and deliveries
- Professional communication with dispatch and management
- Follow all FMCSA / DOT regulations
- Maintain clean logs and equipment
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A
- TWIC card – REQUIRED
- Minimum 2 years OTR experience
- Port / intermodal experience REQUIRED
- Must pass:
- Drug screening
- Background check
- Must meet FMCSA/DOT standards
- Must be approved by leasing carrier
Additional Screening
Applicants will be asked about:
- Traffic violations and/or accidents within the past 3–5 years
- Previous OTR and intermodal experience
- Willingness to run 2–3 long-haul loads per week
- Availability to maintain a minimum 3-run week
