About the Role
HomeCraft Media is a growing real estate media company looking to add reliable, detail-oriented freelance real estate photographers to our team. This role is ideal for photographers who enjoy working independently, meeting new people, and producing consistent, high-quality work in a fast-paced real estate environment.
This is a part-time paid-per-shoot freelance position with flexible scheduling.
Compensation & Schedule
- Paid per shoot
- Typical appointments take 2 hours or less
- Photographers may complete multiple shoots per day
- Opportunities to earn more on larger or expanded packages
- Primary availability Monday–Friday, with occasional weekends based on demand
Responsibilities
- Capture professional-grade interior and exterior photos of residential and commercial properties
- Highlight key features, layout, and lighting using consistent techniques
- Follow HomeCraft Media photography guidelines for brand consistency
- Use exposure bracketing (training provided)
- Upload image files promptly after each appointment
- Communicate professionally with agents, homeowners, tenants, and support staff on site
Experience Requirements
- 1–2 years of professional photography experience required
- Real estate photography experience is helpful but not required
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple appointments
- Ability to adapt to evolving workflows, technology, and standards
Equipment Requirements
Photographers are expected to produce consistent professional quality real estate imagery. Preferred equipment includes:
- Full-frame camera with minimum 24MP resolution
- NO APS-C cameras
- Wide-angle zoom lens suitable for interiors (12–24mm or 16–35mm range or similar)
- Professional-grade tripod
- Entry-level cameras and mobile phones (including iPhones and Canon Rebels) do not qualify
Qualified candidates who do not currently own all listed equipment may still be considered. Equipment support or upgrades may be provided for candidates who demonstrate strong technical skill reliability and a commitment to long term collaboration.
Technical & Workflow Requirements
- Strong computer skills
- Laptop computer suitable for handling and uploading large image files
- Reliable high-speed internet connection
- Ability to follow detailed shooting and file delivery guidelines
- Well-organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Receptive to constructive feedback
Customer Service & Professionalism
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Professional demeanor when interacting with clients and homeowners
- Punctual, reliable, and detail-oriented
- Able to represent the HomeCraft Media brand confidently on site
Transportation & Access
- Reliable transportation required
- Willingness to travel throughout the local market
Contractor & Legal Requirements
- Ability to pass a background check
- Must be legally eligible to work as an independent contractor. LLC preferred but not required. General liability insurance required prior to the first assignment.
Bonus Skills (Not Required)
- Experience with drone photography, video walkthroughs, or 3D tours (Matterport)
- FAA Part 107 certification preferred for drone work
- Willingness to pursue additional training and certifications
