About the position. The Senior Estimator’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
· Knowledge of estimating and quantity takeoff software
· Perform quantity concrete takeoffs
· Review design drawings, specifications, attend pre-bid meetings, and conduct site visits to determine scope
· Lead and prepare accurate proposals
· Prepare conceptual estimates
· Obtain pricing from vendors and subcontractors and maintain accurate database
· Assemble bid packages and submit pricing
· Create visual presentations
· Coordinate with design team on drawing revisions
· Review construction documents for value engineering
· Review construction schedules
· Work with field operations team throughout construction
· Produce accurate quantity takeoffs and estimates for potential change orders
· Demonstrated knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions, and trade practices
· Develop scope of work for subcontractors
· Oversee subcontractor selection process
· Assist project managers in negotiation of contracts, buyouts, change orders, etc
· Maintain and develop historical data for unit pricing
· Prepare and price the value engineering items
· Experience leading Preconstruction meetings
· Develop and maintain relationships with owners, general contractors, and subcontractors
What you need. To be a hero in this organization, the Senior Estimator will have:
· 6+ years of concrete estimating experience.
· Strong understanding of commercial concrete – industrial, commercial ground up, high rise cast in place.
· Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
· Excellent communication and relationship management skills at the executive level.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Excel, and on screen takeoff systems.
