Forklift Mechanic
Location: Carson, CA
Pay: $25.00 - $36.00 per hour (DOE)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Forklift Mechanic to join our team in Carson, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on a variety of forklifts and other material handling equipment. The successful candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and be committed to maintaining equipment in a safe and reliable operating condition.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on electric, propane, diesel, and gasoline forklifts.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using appropriate diagnostic tools.
- Repair or replace engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, hydraulic components, and electrical systems.
- Inspect forklifts to identify safety concerns and equipment deficiencies.
- Complete maintenance reports, work orders, and repair documentation.
- Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation.
- Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and supplies.
- Follow OSHA regulations and all company safety procedures.
- Keep the shop clean, organized, and safe.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform emergency repairs as needed.
- Perform other maintenance duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Forklift Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Experience repairing electric, propane, diesel, and gasoline forklifts.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment failures.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read service manuals and technical diagrams.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions throughout the day.
- Work indoors and outdoors in a maintenance shop environment.
- Safely operate tools and maintenance equipment.
