Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized, customer-focused Service Advisor to join our team.
The Service Advisor serves as the primary point of contact between our customers and the service department. This role is responsible for guiding customers through the entire service process—from check-in and estimate preparation to communication, invoicing, and delivery.
The ideal candidate enjoys helping people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can effectively manage multiple repair orders while maintaining exceptional customer service.
ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Communication
· Greet customers and accurately identify service needs.
· Create and manage repair orders from start to finish.
· Communicate regularly with customers regarding repair status, timelines, approvals, and completion dates.
· Answer incoming calls and emails professionally and promptly.
· Ensure every customer receives an exceptional service experience.
Service Operations
· Assist the Service Manager with scheduling, workflow coordination, and technician assignments.
· Create detailed work orders with clear instructions for technicians.
· Monitor repair progress and follow up on timely completion.
· Coordinate with technicians to ensure quality repairs and customer satisfaction.
· Schedule and manage outside vendors and subcontractors as needed.
Estimates, Sales & Warranty Administration
· Prepare repair estimates and obtain customer approvals.
· Recommend additional maintenance, repairs, parts, and accessories when appropriate.
· Work with manufacturers and warranty providers to obtain repair authorizations.
· Maintain documentation required for warranty reimbursement, including photos and returned parts.
· Utilize manufacturer flat-rate guides and Standard Service Operations (SSOs) when applicable.
Delivery & Administration
· Review completed work for accuracy and quality.
· Coordinate customer pickup and delivery scheduling.
· Finalize repair orders, process invoices, and collect payments.
· Obtain customer signatures and approvals as required.
· Maintain accurate records and timely paperwork.
· Ensure repair orders properly document complaint, cause, and correction.
Additional Duties
· Assist with day-to-day service department operations.
· Support the Service Manager and team as needed.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired
· Strong customer service and communication skills.
· Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
· Professional phone, email, and in-person communication skills.
· Computer proficiency and ability to learn dealership software.
· Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Preferred
· Previous Service Advisor, Service Writer, Service Coordinator, or customer service experience.
· Experience in the marine, automotive, powersports, RV, or equipment repair industries.
· Sales experience and confidence recommending products and services.
· Knowledge of boats, outboards, trailers, engines, mechanical systems, motorcycles, or automobiles.
· Passion for boating and the marine lifestyle.
