2D/3D Art & DIY/Home Shop Teacher

Summary
We are seeking a creative and passionate individual to join our team at Wenatchee High School as a 2D/3D Art & DIY/Home Shop instructor. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to inspire students in the realms of visual arts and hands-on projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both 2D and 3D art forms, as well as experience in DIY techniques, enabling students to explore their creativity and develop practical skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cover a wide range of 2D and 3D art techniques, as well as DIY projects.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and creativity.
- Teach students the fundamentals of various art mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media.
- Introduce students to DIY home projects, emphasizing practical skills and resourcefulness.
- Organize and oversee student art exhibitions and showcases to highlight their work and achievements.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate art into the broader curriculum and school activities.
- Maintain an organized and safe workspace, ensuring that all tools and materials are properly managed and stored.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to students, helping them to grow and develop their artistic abilities.
- Stay current with trends and developments in the art and DIY fields, incorporating new techniques and ideas into the curriculum.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and artistic knowledge.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field.
- Proven experience in teaching 2D and 3D art, as well as DIY/home improvement projects.
- Strong knowledge of various art mediums and techniques, with the ability to teach and demonstrate them effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters creativity and collaboration.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with current trends in art education and DIY projects.
- A valid CTE teaching certificate or ability to obtain a CTE certification.
May require prolonged sitting or standing. Attendance and punctuality are important functions for this position.
SCHEDULE: OPEN UNTIL FILLED.
