VCI is currently seeking an onsite full-time Assistant Construction Manager at VAMC West Haven Campus, located at 950 Campbell Avenue West Haven, CT.
Required Qualification:
- 3 years of experience on a construction project or possess a degree in a related construction/engineering field
- Experience monitoring construction for quality assurance.
- Experience creating and distributing project updates to facilitate team communication
- Experience communicating with project stakeholders about project requirements and timelines
- Be able to pass a background check that includes validation of at least 3 years living in the US.
- Eligible to work in the US.
- Have a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Owner’s representative experience for the federal government
- Experience with IT infrastructure upgrades
- Construction experience in medical facilities
Other Skills and Knowledge:
- Create daily reports.
- Track Contractor's submittals for technical compliance with contract requirements.
- Track RFls for team to accept, require changes, or reject.
- Knowledge of Construction Contract Documents including Technical Specifications and Drawings.
- Ability to work independently and part of a team
- Strong written communication skills to write updates and communicate with stakeholders.
- Strong verbal communication skills to brief owner during project update briefings.
- Strong organizational skills to track projects, prepare meeting minutes, and meet required deadlines.
- Most work will be completed during normal business with occasional night, holiday, and weekend required.
- Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
- Must be familiar with and able to use the Microsoft Suite of Services, including Teams, Word, and Outlook.
SharePoint, and basic Excel skills.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions, wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, walk long distances on rough and uneven surfaces, stand for long periods, lift construction materials to access inspections, climb ladders and scaffolding, and navigate typical civil construction site obstacles.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
