Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Commercial HVAC Installer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction. Duties
- Install new HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems according to schematics and design specifications
- Perform comprehensive system troubleshooting and repair on HVAC/R equipment, electrical diagnostics, plumbing connections, and mechanical systems
- Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure efficient operation and compliance with safety standards
- Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents to facilitate accurate installation and repairs
- Diagnose issues using tools such as ohmmeters, multimeters, and welding equipment; execute repairs with precision
- Ensure all work adheres to local codes, EPA regulations for refrigerants, and safety protocols including proper handling of ammonia refrigeration systems
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining system functions, maintenance procedures, and addressing client concerns professionally
Skills
- Proven construction experience with a focus on HVAC system installation and mechanical systems repair
- Service technician experience in HVAC/R or related fields such as appliance repair or property maintenance
- Strong understanding of schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical systems, plumbing, and building automation systems
- Mechanical knowledge of HVAC components including boilers, refrigeration units, air conditioning systems, and ammonia refrigeration systems
- Proficiency with hand tools, electrical diagnostics equipment (such as ohmmeters), welding tools, and equipment troubleshooting techniques
- Ability to perform electrical diagnostics and repair on complex electrical systems within HVAC units
- Experience with field service operations including equipment repair, maintenance scheduling, and customer interaction
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; familiarity with <PERSON> driver standards preferred
- Knowledge of EPA regulations related to refrigerants; certification required where applicable
- Strong mechanical aptitude combined with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team
