Salary: $125,000-$150,000 + Performance Bonus

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Controller with strong cost accounting and leadership experience to oversee all accounting operations and financial reporting for the company. This role will lead the accounting team, manage the close process, and provide financial insight to support strategic business decisions.
The ideal candidate has 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervising staff and working in cost-driven environments such as manufacturing, distribution, or operations focused organizations.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting Operations
· Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP
· Manage and improve the month-end and year-end close processes
· Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial records
· File sales tax returns and annual reports
· Prepare financial reports and provide analysis to support leadership decision-making
Cost Accounting
· Calculate and update bi-annual physical inventory valuations
· Analyze product and operational costs to support pricing and profitability decisions
· Work with operations leadership to identify opportunities for cost control and margin improvement
Leadership & Team Management
· Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff
· Delegate and review work to ensure accuracy and compliance
· Support hiring, training, and performance management of team members
· Foster a collaborative and accountable finance team culture
Internal Controls & Compliance
· Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies
· Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and company policies
· Support internal and external audits
Budgeting & Financial Planning
· Prepare annual expense budget
· Monitor financial performance against budget and prior year and analyze variances
· Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic initiatives
Process Improvement
· Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and reporting processes
· Implement systems or process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting
· 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
· Experience supervising accounting staff
· Strong cost accounting experience a plus
· Advanced knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
· Strong Excel and Accounting Systems Experience
· Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with Open Systems/Traverse software a plus
· Experience in manufacturing or cost-based environments
· Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
