Test large refrigeration systems before deeming operational
Test joints and connections according to types of refrigerant used
Repair leaks and retests
Operate system for several hours, making adjustment to thermostats and valves to insure proper control of freezing action
Re-lamp light fixtures, replace ceiling tiles, and work with other shop members in the proper identification of ductwork piping, wiring and other needs as may arise
Maintain inventory/stock of supplies used for facility repair, i.e. shower heads, light bulbs, air filters, toilet seals, etc.
Maintain tools and parts in good operating condition
Keep assigned areas clean and in good overall appearance
Perform all work in accordance with all Preventive Maintenance work orders
Keep records on equipment assigned showing the type, model number, installation date, repair history and/or service work performed on same equipment
Maintain all other records pertaining to job functions as assigned
Perform all work associated with the Zone Discrepancy Program as assigned
Assist in the testing of various alarm systems, i.e. Fire Alarm System, etc.
Operate the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as trained. Demonstrates a basic knowledge of the Carrier Comfortworks and Trane Summit computer system
Respond to Codes as required and assist Security as necessary
Read the Read File on a weekly basis and sign as appropriate
Cross-train to be able to fulfill a shift in the boiler room
Demonstrate the ability to make all necessary rounds and observe the boiler room and associated equipment for proper operation, including being able to detect unusual noises, vibrations, and other symptoms of possible problems; take the necessary steps to resolve any problem(s) that arise
Shift equipment as appropriate, take readings, and keep all necessary written records associated with boiler plant operations
Be familiar with the operation and resetting of the Fire Alarm System
Maintain the confidentiality of patient, personnel, and department information at all times
Attend required hospital-wide orientations, meetings, and in-services
Demonstrate a commitment to flexible work scheduling when necessary to ensure patient care
Education and Experience
Minimum Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education: Course(s) in mathematics, physics, shop, blueprint reading, and/or mechanical drawing
Experience:
Completion of a 4+ year apprenticeship or equivalent on-the-job training
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Applicant must have a refrigerant recovery certification.
