- Perform food preparation under cook’s supervision.
- Ensure all mechanically altered textures and liquid consistencies are correctly prepared.
- Label, date and store leftovers and ingredients used during and after food preparation.
- Set up plates and carry-out trays. Assure food presentation is maintained.
- Set up dining rooms and fill meal order requests in a pleasant and courteous manner.
- Receive food shipments and place stock on shelves in a neat and orderly fashion and rotate to assure freshness.
- Responsible for cleaning and care of equipment and work stations in work areas.
- Scrape and wash all dishes, cutlery, pots and pans, before placing into dishwasher or pot sink.
- Responsible for properly closing down the kitchen and dining areas.
- Complete daily, weekly and monthly cleaning assignments of equipment, walls, floors and filters.
- Operate the dishwashing machine, small appliances and wash dishes according to safety and sanitation procedures.
- Report any maintenance needs immediately to the Certified Dietary Manager.
- Breakdown and clean steam table and hot food cart.
- Place clean pots, pans, dishes and cutlery in proper storage areas.
- Comply with all governmental sanitation codes as apply to our facility.
- Perform servicing and general dining room chores to assure residents requests receive prompt and courteous service.
- Project a professional appearance and a willing, positive and courteous expression in performing tasks.
- Cooperate with fellow workers, supervisors, residents, visitors, etc. in performing tasks.
- Maintain tables, condiments and centerpieces in clean and attractive manner.
- Attend all required in-services and trainings.
- Adhere to attendance policy. Report to work on time as scheduled.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state rules and regulations.
- Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Six (6) months experience in the Dietary field required.
- Must be trained in the Heimlich maneuver or willing to be trained.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
