Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Ensure all food is prepared safely, maintaining strict food handling and sanitation protocols
- Assist with meal assembly, plating, and garnishing to ensure visual appeal and quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including knives and cooking tools
- Support menu planning efforts by suggesting ingredient substitutions or improvements based on kitchen operations
- Collaborate with team members to meet service times during busy periods
- Follow food safety regulations diligently, including proper storage, temperature control, and cross-contamination prevention
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen roles within the food industry
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques
- Experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is a plus
- Knowledge of fine dining standards and catering operations is highly desirable
- Excellent food handling practices combined with a solid understanding of food safety protocols
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
